Cherry Blossom — A cherry tree?

Cherry Blossoms

I'm not sure but I think this is a cherry blossom tree or Sakura as they call it in Japan. I took this picture somewhere in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh so it might be some variant of the wild Himalayan Cherry tree. I've never seen cherry trees in the plain regions of India where I come from so this was quite a pleasant surprise.
